SMS notification with GSM modem! Latin and Non latin
alphabets supported!

A new feature now added in WinSAMM! Our central station software can
now use the popular Sony Ericsson GSM/GPRS modems (GM28 or GM29) to send SMS in
latin alphabets and non latin alphabets such as Greek, Chinese or Arabic.
Working in the same fashion as WinSAMM automatic emailing, SMS notifications can
be sent to your customers without any operator's intervention.
Each time
an alarm is received in WinSAMM, WinSAMM verifies if it matches automatic codes.
If it does, emails or SMS are sent to your customers' email addresses or mobile
phones for SMS. The customers receive messages for the codes matching the alarm
received.
Each code for each customer can be selected to send an alert
(or not). With each SMS, you can add a header or a footer with your Central
Station contact info.
What are SMS? SMS stands for Short Message
Service. It's a messaging system part of GSM Mobile phone networks, the most
popular mobile phone system on the planet. A SMS is 160 caracters in roman
caracters and 70 in double-bytes alphabets such as greek or arabic.
2
ways to send SMS with WinSAMM Some GSM providers have email gateways to send
SMS. Most of the time you send an email to the phone_number@gsm_provider.com
and it's transferred to the mobile phone of your customer. When this service is
not available or restricted, you can use a GSM modem which transmits directly to
your customer's phone. This method is generally faster and more reliable than
emailing. A receipt is transmitted by the provider to your GSM modem this way
WInSAMM knows the SMS has been received.
Non latin alphabets
support WinSAMM can handle messages in non latin alphabets such as Arabic,
Chinese, Greek and Russian. Messages are limited to 78 caracters and the
alphabet must be supported in your customer's phone to be displayed.
Why
two models of GSM modems? GSM is offered in several frequency coverages. The
SE GM 28 works in 900/1800 on most of the planet and the GM29 is 850/1900,
mostly North America. Both models can be purchased trough Sony Ericsson
specialized dealers around the world. They are easily connected to a
PC.
Will I need a SIM card? The SE GSM modem have a SIM card holder.
Most of the time, your GSM provider can program your identification in the SIM
card.
